Football
5-5, 5-4 MWC (tie for 4th)
SUMMARY: The Foresters won five of their last six games to even their overall record.
STANDOUTS: Quarterback Jeff Ziemnik ’08 led the Midwest Conference in total offense (274.1 ypg) and set a school record with 20 touchdown passes on the season. Wide receiver Dan Carter ’10 is already the program’s all-time leader in career touchdown receptions catching 11 for the second straight year. Punter Justin Ellerman ’07 ranked fifth in the nation with a 42.2 yards per punt average. Linebacker Chad Zimborski ’10 led the team with 98 tackles and safety Matt Lawler ’09 intercepted five passes.

Volleyball
9-18, 4-5 MWC (6th)
SUMMARY: The Foresters qualified for the six-team Midwest Conference Tournament but were defeated by Monmouth College in the quarterfinals.
STANDOUTS: Middle blocker Nicole Baich ’08 became the program’s all-time leader in career kills (1,382) and blocks (471) and libero Lisa Sturgill ’09 matched her 646 digs from the previous season. Head Coach Beth Pier announced her resignation after posting a 252-157 record and capturing five conference titles in 14 years with the program.

Men’s Soccer
5-11-0, 3-6-0 MWC (7th)
SUMMARY: The Foresters suffered six one-goal losses, including two in double-overtime, during the season.
STANDOUTS: Forward Steve Stavropoulos ’09 led the team with seven goals and 16 points and midfielder Attila Schmidt ’08 recorded a team-high four assists. Schmidt finished his career ranked ninth in team history with 18 assists and tied-for-15th with 58 points. Named All-Conference: First Team: Attila Schmidt ’08; Second Team: Steve Stavropoulos ’09, Rob Palutsis ‘09.

Women’s Soccer
11-8-1, 7-2-0 MWC (3rd)
SUMMARY: The Foresters defeated St. Norbert College 2-1 in overtime to reach the MWC Tournament final but were defeated by host and league champion Carroll College.
STANDOUTS: Forward Mackenzie Yates ’11 scored a team-high seven goals in her first seven collegiate games before suffering a season-ending injury. Midfielders Bianca Greene ’11 and Jocelyn Maneval ’10 tied for the team lead with six assists, and 20 players on the team recorded at least one point. Goalkeeper Alison Lynch ’09 started every game, including the team’s nine shutouts, and the Foresters surrendered just 26 goals in 20 games on the year.

Cross Country
Men 6th, Women 8th at MWC Championship Meet
SUMMARY: The Forester men moved up two places from last year’s league finish and five spots at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional Meet.
STANDOUTS: Kahiye Hassan ’11 posted two of the top three and five of the top eight 8-kilometer times in team history and received All-Conference honors. Forester women combined to run five of the 25 fastest 6-kilometer times in program history. Four women were named Academic All-Conference: Jackie Hogan ’08, Sarah Marrinan ’09, Synneve Yoder ’09, and Charice Wilczynski ’10.

Women’s Tennis
6-7, 3-1 MWC South (2nd South, 4th Overall)
SUMMARY: Lake Forest qualified for the four-team MWC Championship Tournament for the eighth consecutive year but fell to Carroll College in the third-place match.
STANDOUTS: Alli Berry was 14-4 on the season, finished as the runner-up at the conference tourney at #1 singles, and reached the round of 16 at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional Tournament. She finished her career as the program’s all-time leader in victories at #1 singles (43) and #1 doubles (38). Head Coach Chuck Sheftel recently announced his resignation after leading the squad to a pair of top-four conference finishes in two seasons with the program.
