September 23, 2008 Contact: Mike Wajerski, SID Foresters Prevail in Four Sets at Mount Mary College
Sophomore Mandi Mulliner (Elmhurst, Ill./York) and senior Ashley Cretacci (Mundelein, Ill./Mundelein) shared team-high honors with a dozen kills apiece. Mulliner also led the squad with five aces and four blocks (all solos). Sophomore setter Deena Blanchard (Sparta, Mich./Sparta) finished with 21 assists, three aces, and a career-high nine kills in the contest. Senior Lisa Sturgill (Sheboygan, Wis./Sheboygan South) led the team with 34 digs, freshman Emily Seaman (Racine, Wis./St. Catherine's) recorded a career-high 12, and senior Ashleigh Martinez (Chula Vista, Calif./Hilltop) also reached double figures with 10. Lake Forest will compete in the Wheaton Invitational this weekend (September 26-27). The Foresters is scheduled to take on UW-Stevens Point at 5:30 Friday evening and Cornell College at 7:00. Their opponents on Saturday will be Lakeland College at 10:00 a.m. and Judson University at 2:00 in the afternoon.
