V-Day              

"V-Day is a global movement to stop violence against women and girls.  V-Day is a catalyst that promotes creative events to increase awareness, raise money and revitalize the spirit of existing anti-violence organizations.  V-Day generates broader attention for the fight to stop worldwide violence against women and girls, including rape, battery, incest, female genital mutilation (FGM) and sexual slavery."  Additionally, Our campus V-Day Campaign raises awareness and dialogue through campus programming via presentations and lectures from professors and guest speakers and through the student performances of Eve Ensler's  "The Vagina Monologues".   The proceeds and fundraisisng for this production are given to a local organization this student group selects and a small percentage goes towards the annually selected "spotlight women" sponsered by the V-Day campaign internationally.
