The words WRITE and THINK go hand in hand with SUMMER and FUN at Lake Forest College. You'll get to experience both with the Writing and Thinking Workshop, a two-week residential program for high-school students who want to explore writing in a nontraditional classroom setting without concern for grades.

Supportive faculty (who are writers, too!) work with students in small groups to help them develop confidence in their voices as writers. Participants learn strategies to generate fresh and compelling ideas, the kind of well-reasoned ideas first-rate colleges and universities expect from their students. Trips to Chicago's museums and cultural events will offer additional inspiration.
